Where to Stay?

If you want to enjoy shopping, restaurants, and other events in December, stay right in Downtown Bellevue for ease & convenience. However, if you want luxury spa access and holiday-themed hotel workshops, then The Westin Bellevue is a perfect choice to consider.

W. Bellevue is great for families, nightlife lovers, and travelers wanting a stylish stay so they can enjoy a modern vibe. The Hyatt Regency Bellevue is another ideal place, perfect for families and couples. It is connected to the Bellevue Collection via skybridges.

What to Eat?

Grab a cozy winter drink at Bellden Café or Honor Coffee before heading to the light shows. It will keep you warm and cozy. If you are hungry and want to enjoy a quick family meal, The Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Chang’s are the best options located right in the Bellevue Collection.

But, if you need something local, choose Carmine’s Bellevue (Italian) or Fogo de Chão (steak + holiday atmosphere).
Treat yourself to festive desserts at Lady M, Paris Baguette, or Matcha Magic. Food trucks are often parked near holiday events — perfect for hot chocolate, mini-donuts, and warm snacks.

After Garden d’Lights, stop by Seastar Restaurant or John Howie Steak for a memorable winter dinner.

Where to Shop?

Want to grab something for your family? We’d recommend Bellevue Square, as it features holiday sales, gifts, local pop-ups, and festive decor everywhere.

The Shops at The Bravern are also excellent as they have designer brands for upscale gift shopping. Old Bellevue features charming boutique shops for handmade, artisan, and unique gifts. Many families love to visit here.

Pop-up markets appear during December events, and are best for local crafts and food gifts.

How to Get Around?

Travel issues are common problems for families and couples. But not here in Bellevue.

You can walk whenever you can, because Downtown is compact, safe, and beautifully lit during the holidays. But if you don’t want to walk around, Bellevue Transit Center makes it super easy to hop on a bus to Seattle, Redmond, or Kirkland.

Parking garages around Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square offer plenty of space—super convenient for events.

Use ride-hailing services like Uber/Lyft if you don’t want to deal with traffic around Snowflake Lane. Bike/scooter rentals are also quite common here and are perfect for short hops, especially during warmer months.

Tips for Enjoying Bellevue Events

The first important tip – always arrive 30–45 minutes early for Snowflake Lane — it gets beautifully crowded. Make sure you are dressed up warm — Bellevue nights can be chilly, especially near the waterfront.

Do not forget to bring a portable phone charger — After all, you want photos of everything. Check event parking in advance, especially during December weekends, because it is really a busy time for all.

If visiting with kids, pack snacks, gloves, glow sticks, and a stroller if needed. And if you are going to enjoy indoor events, always check if reservations are needed (workshops, museum events, etc.).
