Location & History

Crossroads is located in the north and eastern portions of the city and lying south of Bellevue-Redmond Road and north of Lake Hills. The area was once referred as “Highlands” but later the name was changed to Crossroads.

In the early twentieth century, the land was largely used for timber harvesting. And then in the 1920s, farming took hold in the current-day Crossroads and Lake Hills areas, which were mainly conducted by Japanese immigrants.

Wartime internment changed the overall landscape in 1942, and then, after post-war suburbia, the area was annexed by Bellevue in 1964.
